Reverie Crews โ Working the Field Together
A Reverie Crew is the social progression layer built around listening. A small field team can grow into a Session Crew, an Ensemble, a Studio Collective and eventually a Broadcast Network. Members keep their own accounts and builds while the crew develops a shared Point reserve, a stronger listening bonus, a changing production hierarchy and a special ๐ค Grandmaster Relay lane.
The system is useful from the moment you join. The deeper ranks are a long project: they ask for active members, accumulated listening and deliberate choices about when the crew should grow, when it should share its reserve, and which people should carry responsibility.
Field map
1. What a Reverie Crew is
Reverie Field begins as a solitary practice: one operator, one archive, one listening history. Crews introduce a second scale. Your own progression remains yours, while a small part of the activity around listening begins to leave a shared trace that the whole team can see and develop.
A crew has a name, a short tag, a Crew Mark, a written Field Note, a rank, a member list and a shared balance called Crew Points. Its rank defines three practical things immediately: how many people can join, how large the crew listening bonus is, and what effective state the ๐ค Grandmaster Relay can reach.
You do not have to join a crew to play Reverie Field. The system is an optional route for players who enjoy persistent groups, shared progression, team identity, specialist roles or another way to develop a Grandmaster build. A player who prefers a completely independent account can ignore it without blocking the rest of the Field.
Personal progression stays personal
Your Points, relics, talents, resources and normal rewards remain attached to your own account. Crew listening does not take a cut from your payout.
The reserve belongs to the crew
Crew Points are a separate shared balance used for rank upgrades, direct Point sends and Crew Shares. They are visible as part of the crew's public scale.
The organization has memory
Contribution totals, rank, lifetime Field Output, identity and social history give a crew a record that can outlast one build or one group of active players.
2. Join a crew or create one?
Joining is the simplest entrance. Browse the Crew Directory, enter an Open Join crew, accept an invitation from a leader or deputy, or follow an active public Crew Share link. The member cap of the current rank always applies.
Creating a Reverie Crew unlocks at player Level 10. Creation starts the crew at Rank I: Field Crew, with room for six people and a +0.50% listening bonus. Founding a crew does not require a rank-up payment. The expensive part comes later, when the group begins climbing the seven-rank ladder.
The Level 10 requirement applies to founding. It is not a general membership requirement, so a newer player can join an existing crew before reaching Level 10.
Join an existing crew
- Immediate access to the crew's current ๐ง listening bonus.
- Your listening begins adding to your contribution record and the shared reserve.
- If you own a ๐ค Grandmaster Relic, the Crew Relay becomes available at that crew's rank.
- You can take part without carrying administration or upgrade decisions.
Create at Level 10+
- Choose a unique crew name and a unique 2โ8 character tag.
- Choose Open Join or Invite Only access.
- Write the first Field Note and later set a custom Crew Mark.
- You become the first leader and control upgrades, Crew Points, access and long-term structure.
One seat at a time
A player can belong to only one Reverie Crew. To move to another, leave the current crew first. Choose a new crew for its people and direction rather than treating membership as a disposable toggle: contribution, deputy succession and Crew Share eligibility all gain meaning from staying around long enough to become part of the record.
3. Crew identity: name, tag, Field Note and Crew Mark
Crews are visible organizations in the Field Archive. Their identity appears in the directory, leaderboards and public Crew Card. The small team you create at Rank I can keep the same identity all the way to Broadcast Network.
Name & tag
The crew name needs at least three characters. The tag is 2โ8 characters. Both must be unique. The current Crew board provides editing for the Mark, Field Note and access mode, so choose the founding name and tag carefully.
Crew Mark
The leader can set a square crew image. The in-game cropper prepares it at 128ร128. WebP, PNG and JPEG are accepted, with a small file-size limit so marks remain quick to load.
Field Note
A short public statement of up to 280 characters. It can be a credo, recording philosophy, production note or plain description. The leader can revise it as the crew changes.
Crew Archive Print
The stable public Crew Card can be shared even when no Crew Share is active. It carries the crew identity, rank, member count, listening bonus, Grandmaster Relay state, lifetime output and leadership details.
Open crews and invite-only crews both remain visible in the Crew Directory. Open Join gives eligible players an immediate Join button. Invite Only keeps the crew discoverable while recruitment stays in the hands of its leader and deputy.
Two public leaderboards give another view of the archive: Largest Crews favors member count, while Deepest Reserves begins with current Crew Points and then uses long-term output and membership as further ordering signals.
4. The seven-rank crew ladder
A Reverie Crew starts as a recognizable production-sound team and changes scale over time. Capacity grows from six to seventy-five members. The listening bonus rises from +0.50% to +7.00%. The Grandmaster Relay moves through Rare, Epic and Legendary effective states as the organization matures.

What an upgrade actually checks
Only the current crew leader can promote the organization. The next rank checks the required member count and the required Crew Points. The cost is paid from the shared reserve, so Points already reserved inside an active Crew Share are not available for a rank upgrade until they return or are otherwise resolved.
The threshold at Rank IV
The first two promotions are ordinary crew growth. Moving from Ensemble into Studio Collective, and every later promotion, asks something personal of the current leader: the Field must already have recorded the irreversible event at the rail where the map reaches the water.
The requirement belongs to the leader attempting the promotion. If it is missing, the promotion is refused before Crew Points are spent. An existing crew does not lose its current rank when leadership later changes; the requirement matters again when that successor tries to take the organization farther.
5. Listening bonus and Crew Points
Crew progression is anchored in listening. When a listening session settles, membership can add the current crew-rank bonus to the session's final Point payout. That is the immediate personal benefit every member can feel, even in a Rank I crew.
After that crew bonus has been applied, a tiny 0.00025% trace of the final listening payout is mirrored into Crew Points. The word mirrored matters: the same amount is not removed from your personal reward. Your full session payout remains yours.
Example: a final crew-boosted listening payout of 1,000,000,000 Points leaves about 2,500 Crew Points in the shared reserve while the member still receives the full one billion Points.
Current Crew Points
The spendable shared reserve. It pays for rank promotions, direct sends to members and reserved budgets for Crew Shares.
Lifetime Field Output
The long-term total generated through the listening trace. Spending the current reserve does not erase this historical scale.
Member contribution
Each member receives credit for the Crew Points mirrored from their own listening settlements. Contributor titles use this record.
Your listening reward is protected
Joining a crew does not reduce your listening Points. The shared trace is an additional crew credit. It is also checked against your membership when the session settles, so a player who has already left or been removed does not keep feeding an old crew afterward.
6. Members, roles, contributor titles and succession
Crew titles begin with the language of location sound. As the organization grows, the call sheet widens: the same structure begins to resemble a studio, then a production company, a label and a network. The titles are meant to show scale without turning every highly active member into an administrator.
| Rank | Leader | Second-in-command | Top contributor titles | Regular member title |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| I ยท Field Crew | Production Sound Mixer | Boom Operator | Utility Sound Technician ยท Sound Service Person ยท Cable Person | Production Sound Trainee |
| II ยท Session Crew | Production Sound Mixer | First Assistant Sound | Second Assistant Sound ยท Utility Sound Technician ยท Sound Recordist | Sound Trainee |
| III ยท Ensemble | Head of Sound | Production Sound Mixer | First Assistant Sound ยท Second Assistant Sound ยท Sound Recordist | Sound Assistant |
| IV ยท Studio Collective | Producer | Production Manager | Head of Sound ยท Senior Sound Producer ยท Studio Coordinator | Production Assistant |
| V ยท Production Company | Executive Producer | Line Producer | Production Manager ยท Senior Producer ยท Production Coordinator | Production Assistant |
| VI ยท Record Label | Label Director | Head of Production | Executive Producer ยท Senior Producer ยท Label Producer | Production Coordinator |
| VII ยท Broadcast Network | Network Director | Head of Operations | Executive Producer ยท Series Producer ยท Senior Producer | Production Coordinator |
Leader
The leader controls the crew economy and its formal direction: rank upgrades, access mode, direct Crew Point sends, Crew Shares, member removal, deputy appointment, leadership transfer, Field Note, Crew Mark and disbanding. At higher ranks, the title changes, but these responsibilities remain the same.
Second-in-command
The leader may appoint exactly one current member as the crew's second-in-command. The title changes with rank โ Boom Operator at Rank I, First Assistant Sound at Rank II, and eventually Head of Operations at Rank VII. This player can send invitations and stands first in the succession line if the leader leaves. They cannot spend Crew Points, promote the crew, change access, open Crew Shares, remove members or disband it.
Contributor titles
The three strongest current contributors among ordinary members receive the specialist titles shown for that rank. Contribution here means the Crew Point trace generated by that player's own listening. These titles are recognition. They do not quietly grant management permissions.
What happens if the leader leaves?
8. Grandmaster Relay โ a crew-routed Active Resonance lane
The Grandmaster Relay is the most build-heavy part of Reverie Crews. If a member owns a ๐ค Grandmaster Relic, the crew can route that relic through a separate Active Resonance lane. The physical relic stays in the player's collection. Crew rank decides how powerful the Relay is allowed to behave.
The Relay has two sources of identity
Your Grandmaster Relic supplies the school, resonance quality, memory identity and affix identities. Your Crew rank supplies the Relay's effective rarity and effective level. Those two pieces meet when the current active affix values are calculated.
If you own several Grandmaster Relics, the Relay currently chooses the one with the highest upgrade level. If two have the same upgrade level, the lower relic ID is selected. There is no manual Relay relic selector in the current Crew board.
Effective Relay state by crew rank
| Crew rank | Effective rarity | Effective level | Active affix slots | What changes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| I ยท Field Crew | Rare | Lv1 | 1 | Entry Relay; the first affix is live. |
| II ยท Session Crew | Rare | Lv3 | 1 | The first Rare-route affix grows in value. |
| III ยท Ensemble | Rare | Lv5 | 2 | A second active affix enters the Relay. |
| IV ยท Studio Collective | Epic | Lv5 | 2 | The Relay switches to Epic scaling. |
| V ยท Production Company | Epic | Lv7 | 3 | The third Epic-route affix becomes active. |
| VI ยท Record Label | Legendary | Lv8 | 5 | A major jump into Legendary scaling and five live affixes. |
| VII ยท Broadcast Network | Legendary | Lv10 | 6 | Current maximum crew route: six live Relay affixes. |
What the Relay does to Active Resonance
- Its active affix modifiers are added to the player's combined equipped modifier map.
- It uses its own lane and does not consume one of the ordinary Active Resonance slots.
- It does not add another relic toward school-set thresholds.
- It does not add another relic toward Secret Phrase chains.
- It does not count as another Seasonal Signature for stacking.
- Leaving the crew closes the Relay lane automatically.
Older Grandmaster pieces may have been created when fewer affix identities were stored directly on the relic. The current Relay fills out the missing identity pattern deterministically so an older piece can still expose the correct number of Relay slots for the current rank. You do not need to rebuild the relic simply because it comes from an earlier version of the archive.
No Grandmaster Relic yet?
The rest of the crew still works. You receive the crew listening bonus, generate the shared Point trace, build contribution and participate in Crew Shares. The Relay waits until a ๐ค Grandmaster Relic exists in your collection.
9. GM Affix Voucher Splice
Crew members with a Grandmaster Relic gain a focused way to reshape the affix identities feeding their Relay. The GM Affix Voucher Splice uses unused Quick +1 vouchers that already belong to the player.
Standard Quick +1 voucher
One currently active Relay affix slot is chosen at random and receives a different eligible affix identity.
Premium Quick +1 voucher
You choose the exact currently active Relay slot to change. Every other affix identity stays in place.
A voucher cannot target a future slot that the current crew rank has not activated. The splice changes the selected affix identity; it does not change the crew rank, effective Relay rarity, effective Relay level, relic school or resonance quality. The changed identity is saved with the underlying Grandmaster Relic blueprint, so the result remains part of that relic's future Relay routing.
This makes crew rank relevant to build editing as well as raw affix power. Rank III exposes two Rare-route slots, Rank V exposes three Epic-route slots, and the final two ranks reveal much wider Legendary Relay layouts. A Premium voucher becomes more precise as more slots are actually live.
10. Private Discord room
A linked crew member can receive a private Discord role and access to the crew's private room. The role uses the full crew name together with its tag. The room uses the crew name, and its topic follows the Field Note written in game.
Crew Shares are announced in that private room automatically when the room is available, so a leader can open a Share in game and the signed public link reaches the team's Discord space without a second manual post.
The Crew board includes a Check / repair Discord action for cases where a linked player, role or private room needs to be synchronized again. Discord support is a social convenience; the core Crew bonus, reserve, ranks and Relay are game systems and do not depend on every member having Discord linked.
When a crew is disbanded, its active members lose the generated access role. The old room can remain as an archive of that crew's history rather than being treated as a fresh active team space.
11. Crew achievements
The Achievement Archive records two foundational Crew actions. They are useful early social milestones and also feed the wider badge and Player Rank system described in the Achievement guide.
๐ฅ Sound Utility Call
Condition: join a Reverie Crew.
Reward: 2,500 ๐งฉ Relic Fragments + 1,000 โ SONO.
๐ก First Assembly
Condition: create a Reverie Crew.
Reward: 7,500 ๐งฉ Relic Fragments + 3,000 โ SONO.
Older crews are accounted for through current membership and leadership where needed, so players who were already part of the social system before these achievement entries appeared are not expected to destroy and rebuild a crew merely to establish that history.
12. Ways to build a crew
There is no single correct crew shape. The same seven ranks support very different groups because the system has several pressures at once: active listener count, long-term reserve growth, Relay goals, public recruitment, private social structure and the choice between saving Crew Points or returning some of them to members.
The small recording team
Stay compact at Field Crew or Session Crew. Six to ten reliable people are easier to coordinate, the listening bonus is already live, and the group can treat the reserve as a long-term log rather than racing the ladder.
The Relay workshop
Build toward the ranks where the ๐ค Grandmaster Relay opens additional affix slots. Ensemble is the first two-affix Relay point; Production Company reaches three Epic-route affixes; Record Label is the large Legendary jump.
The open archive crew
Use Open Join, a recognizable Crew Mark, a clear Field Note and the public Crew Card. The directory becomes part of recruitment, while the deputy helps keep invitations and continuity moving.
The reserve-first crew
Delay direct distributions and Crew Shares while saving for a specific promotion. This is especially meaningful at the later ranks, where the Point curve becomes a collective long-term project.
The sharing crew
Use Crew Shares regularly, set membership-time requirements that suit the group, and accept slower rank progression in exchange for returning more of the reserve to active members.
The succession-minded crew
Appoint a deputy before the organization becomes large, and keep contributor records meaningful. A crew with a clear second line is much harder to strand when its founder steps away.
A useful early route
For a new player, the simplest path is to join a healthy existing crew, keep listening normally, watch how Crew Points and contributor titles accumulate, and learn the Relay later. For a player who wants to lead, Level 10 is enough to establish a six-seat Field Crew; there is no need to wait for late-game systems before giving the group a name and beginning its archive.
13. Rules worth remembering
๐ง The rank bonus is a listening-Point bonus
Do not read the crew percentage as a universal multiplier for every reward. Its direct personal rank bonus belongs to settled listening Points.
๐ข The Point trace is tiny by design
0.00025% is a historical accumulation layer across many members and sessions. It is copied after the crew listening bonus and does not reduce the player reward.
๐ฅ Contributor title is not authority
High contribution can earn one of the current rank's specialist titles, but administration remains with the leader and the explicitly appointed second-in-command only where described.
๐ค Relay power is rank-routed
Your physical Grandmaster Relic does not become Rare, Epic or Legendary. Those labels describe the effective Relay state supplied by the crew.
๐ง๐ปโโ๏ธ The Relay stays outside set counting
Its affixes contribute to the modifier map, while school-set piece counts, Secret Phrase chains and Seasonal Signature counts continue to use their normal Active Resonance rules.
Crew Share entrance is temporary
An active public Crew Share can admit a player even to an Invite Only crew. The ordinary access mode still governs normal directory joining, and the Share's own eligibility rules remain in force.
14. Frequently asked questions
Do I need Level 10 to join a Reverie Crew?
No. Level 10 is the current requirement for creating a crew. Joining an existing crew has no equivalent creation-level gate; available seats and the chosen access route are what matter.
Does a crew take some of my listening Points?
No. Your crew rank can increase the listening payout, and 0.00025% of the final crew-boosted payout is then mirrored separately into Crew Points. The member keeps the full personal reward.
Can I belong to more than one crew?
No. Membership is one crew per player. Leave the current crew before joining or founding another.
Who can invite players?
The leader and the appointed second-in-command can send ordinary invitations. Invitations stay valid for seven days unless they are accepted or otherwise closed.
Who can spend Crew Points?
The leader. Rank promotions, direct Point sends and Crew Shares are leader actions. The deputy helps with recruitment and succession but does not control the shared reserve.
Can the leader send Crew Points directly to anybody?
Direct distributions can go only to a current member of that same crew. The sent amount leaves the shared reserve and enters that player's normal Points.
Can a public Crew Share link join an Invite Only crew?
Yes, while that signed Share is active and the crew has room. The link acts as its own temporary entrance. Joining and claiming are separate actions, so a membership-time requirement can still delay the Point claim.
What happens to unclaimed Crew Share Points?
On normal expiry, unused reserved Points return to the active crew reserve. If the crew is explicitly disbanded, active Shares are cancelled and their remaining reserved budget is not returned.
Does the Grandmaster Relay use an ordinary Active Resonance slot?
No. It has its own crew-routed lane. Its active affixes contribute to the combined modifier map without occupying a normal slot.
Does the Relay count toward school sets or Secret Phrase chains?
No. It also does not add another Seasonal Signature to stacking. Those systems keep their ordinary equipped-relic counting rules.
Which Grandmaster Relic does the Relay use if I own several?
The current rule selects the Grandmaster Relic with the highest upgrade level. If there is a tie, the lower relic ID wins the tie. The current Crew board does not provide a manual Relay selector.
Does Crew rank permanently change my Grandmaster Relic's rarity or level?
No. Rare, Epic and Legendary in the crew ladder describe the effective Relay state. Your underlying Grandmaster Relic remains the same physical collection item.
What does the Standard GM Affix Voucher Splice do?
It spends one unused Standard Quick +1 voucher and randomly chooses one currently active Relay affix slot to receive a new eligible affix identity.
What does the Premium GM Affix Voucher Splice do?
It spends one unused Premium Quick +1 voucher and lets you select the exact currently active Relay slot. Other affix identities stay unchanged.
Why can my crew reach Rank III but not Rank IV?
Rank IV begins the late crew leadership gate. The current leader must already carry the persistent Field End record tied to the rail where the map reaches the water. The check happens before the upgrade cost is spent.
What happens when the leader leaves?
The appointed second-in-command inherits first. Without one, the strongest remaining contributor is selected, with membership age used after contribution for ties. If the leader is alone, the crew closes.
Is Discord required to receive Crew bonuses?
No. Discord provides the private room, crew role and Share announcements for linked members. Listening bonuses, Crew Points, ranks and the Grandmaster Relay are in-game Crew mechanics.
The Field keeps individual takes. A crew is what happens when enough of those takes begin leaving the same room tone behind.
