๐ŸŽ“ Learn Tab: Describe Sounds (How It Works)

Learn is where you describe what you hear on the Radio โ€” and the game rewards you for it.

Your descriptions help us collect real โ€œsound worldโ€ data and train Reverie Fieldโ€™s future audio model: better recognition, smarter lore responses, and stronger sound-based systems over time.

What you do in Learn

While you are ๐ŸŽง listening, you can write a short description of the sound you hear and press Send Description.

  • You get ๐Ÿงฉ Relic Fragments (always, if your submission is accepted).
  • If you have โ› Mining Pass, you also get a chance to earn SONO.
  • With the right talents, Learn can also roll Sonic Relics (and sometimes a ๐ŸŽ’ duplicate).
  • You also get an optional AI โ€œinterpretationโ€ reply (flavor + guidance, with a daily cap).

Important: Learn is designed to reward real participation, not spam. Thatโ€™s why it has daily limits and a cooldown timer between submissions.

How to use Learn in the UI (step-by-step)

1) Activate Learn

  • Start ๐ŸŽง listening in the Radio.
  • Open the Learn tab.
  • If youโ€™re not listening, the UI can stay locked (button disabled + reminder message).

2) Choose reward destination (SONO only)

In Learn, you can pick where SONO should go if SONO mining succeeds:

  • Off-chain (๐Ÿ›’ store balance) โ€” credited to your in-game wallet.
  • On-chain โ€” minted to your linked wallet.

This setting only matters if you have โ› Mining Pass and you roll a successful SONO reward.

3) Write your description

  • Write what you hear in the text box.
  • Keep it short and clear โ€” max length is 256 characters.
  • Press Send Description.

4) Read results

  • Youโ€™ll see a confirmation message, and your remaining daily attempts update.
  • ๐Ÿงฉ fragments are added instantly and your UI updates.
  • If SONO drops, youโ€™ll get a popup showing how much you earned and where it went.
  • If a relic drops, youโ€™ll see a relic popup (and maybe a duplicate popup).
  • AI response appears below (if you havenโ€™t hit the daily AI limit).

Daily limit + cooldown

Learn uses two protections:

  • Daily limit โ€” you can only submit a certain number of descriptions per day.
  • Cooldown timer โ€” you must wait between submissions.

In the UI you can always see: Daily Descriptions Left and Time Until Next Description.

Base values (no statuses, no talents)

  • Daily submissions: 5
  • Cooldown: 60 minutes

Why it exists: Learn is a โ€œquality inputโ€ feature. Cooldowns help keep the dataset readable and the economy fair.

Status upgrades that change Learn

โ› Mining Pass (turns on SONO mining)

  • +5 daily submissions (so 10 total before other bonuses).
  • Unlocks a base SONO reward chance of 2.5%.
  • When it succeeds, you earn a random amount of SONO (1โ€“125, then talent bonuses can increase it).

๐ŸŒŒ Sonic Explorer Status (makes Learn faster + richer)

  • +5 more daily submissions (so +10 total from both statuses).
  • Boosts SONO chance by +50% (2.5% โ†’ 3.75% before talent bonuses).
  • Changes the base cooldown to ~15 minutes (then talents can reduce it further).
  • Boosts base ๐Ÿงฉ fragments per description (see below).

Talents that affect Learn

๐Ÿงธ Sound Interpreter (the main Learn talent)

Sound Interpreter scales the Learn loop in four ways:

  • Daily submissions: +1 per talent level.
  • ๐Ÿงฉ fragments per description: +1 per talent level.
  • Cooldown reduction:
    • without ๐ŸŒŒ Explorer: cooldown reduces by 3 minutes per level (down to a 60s minimum).
    • with ๐ŸŒŒ Explorer: cooldown reduces by ~1.4 minutes per level (down to a 60s minimum).
  • SONO chance: +0.5% per level (only matters if โ› Mining Pass is active).

In plain words: Sound Interpreter makes Learn feel โ€œaliveโ€ โ€” more attempts, more fragments, and shorter waits.

๐Ÿงช Token Alchemist (bigger SONO payouts when SONO succeeds)

Token Alchemist does not increase your SONO chance. It increases the amount when SONO mining succeeds.

  • Level 1 โ†’ +5%
  • Level 2 โ†’ +7%
  • Level 3 โ†’ +9%
  • Level 4 โ†’ +11%
  • Level 5 โ†’ +15%
  • Level 6 โ†’ +18%
  • Level 7 โ†’ +21%
  • Level 8 โ†’ +24%
  • Level 9 โ†’ +27%
  • Level 10 โ†’ +30%

๐Ÿงฉ Fragment rewards (always)

Every accepted description grants ๐Ÿงฉ fragments. The total is:

  • Base fragments:
    • without ๐ŸŒŒ Explorer: +1
    • with ๐ŸŒŒ Explorer: +3
  • + Sound Interpreter bonus: +1 per ๐Ÿงธ level (always added on top)

Example: if you have ๐ŸŒŒ Explorer and ๐Ÿงธ Sound Interpreter 6, you get 3 + 6 = 9 ๐Ÿงฉ fragments per accepted description.

๐Ÿช™ SONO rewards (only if you have โ› Mining Pass)

If you have โ› Mining Pass, every accepted description rolls a SONO chance.

  • Base chance: 2.5%
  • With ๐ŸŒŒ Explorer: 2.5% ร— 1.5 = 3.75%
  • With ๐Ÿงธ Sound Interpreter: +0.5% per level (added on top)
  • Amount on success: 1โ€“125 SONO, then ๐Ÿงช Token Alchemist can increase it

Reward destination tip:
If you pick On-chain but you donโ€™t have a linked wallet, the game can still accept your description and grant ๐Ÿงฉ fragments โ€” but SONO wonโ€™t be minted until you connect a wallet. If you want guaranteed usability, choose Off-chain (๐Ÿ›’ store balance).

Relic generation from Learn (late-game synergy)

Learn can also generate a Sonic Relic, but itโ€™s intentionally gated behind a synergy build.

  • Requirements: ๐Ÿงธ Sound Interpreter โ‰ฅ 10 AND ๐ŸŽญ Task Artisan โ‰ฅ 10
  • If a relic is generated, it will appear as a popup and be added to your collection.
  • If you also have ๐ŸŽ’ Field Recordist Bag โ‰ฅ 10, there is a chance to duplicate the generated relic.
Why is it gated?

Because Learn is already a strong economy + data feature. Relic generation is meant to be a โ€œbuild rewardโ€ for players who invested in the right long-term talents.

AI response (what it is, and why it can be limited)

After a successful submission, the game can display an AI response to your description. This response is mainly:

  • Flavor (worldbuilding / interpretation)
  • Light guidance (help you notice patterns and engage with the sound world)

AI responses have a daily cap. If you hit it, youโ€™ll see a warning message and can continue submitting descriptions (you still get ๐Ÿงฉ fragments and other rewards).

What makes a โ€œgoodโ€ description

The best descriptions are short, specific, and structured.

  • Source: wind / voices / traffic / birds / machinery
  • Texture: hissy / crunchy / smooth / metallic / muffled
  • Motion: approaching / fading / looping / pulsing
  • Space: indoor / open field / tunnel / distant / close
  • Mood: calm / tense / eerie / joyful

One small rule: please avoid personal data. Donโ€™t write real addresses, phone numbers, or anything sensitive. Describe the sound โ€” not private information.

Quick โ€œclean Learn sessionโ€ checklist

  • Be ๐ŸŽง listening before you try to submit.
  • Watch the Time Until Next Description timer.
  • Keep descriptions under 256 characters.
  • Pick the right reward destination (๐Ÿ›’ off-chain vs on-chain).
  • If you want the โ€œfull Learn buildโ€: aim for ๐Ÿงธ 10 + ๐ŸŽญ 10, then ๐ŸŽ’ 10 for duplicates.
